I'm so pleased to offer LED Light Therapy as a new modality for my clients!
Light therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM), is the targeted application of infrared and near-infrared light to areas with injuries, pain, or that require increased healing. PBM increases the body’s ability to produce Nitric Oxide which promotes increased blood flow, increased blood oxygen levels, and provides an enhanced environment for healing.
Numerous clinical studies and real-world use have shown that targeted light therapy results in:
- Joint, muscle, & soft tissue pain – pain is relieved & inflammation is reduced
- Reduction of back & shoulder pain
- Faster healing
- Rebuilding of collagen
- Increased cognitive ability
I’ve completed extensive training on this safe, effective non-invasive procedure and am now a Certified Light Therapist.
Maximize the Benefits of Light Therapy
Since light therapy greatly increases the body’s ability to heal, it is important to regularly receive light therapy during this time.
Initial treatment should be a minimum of three sessions within 9 days and continuing at least once a week until the desired results have been obtained. I’m happy to talk with you during your initial appointment to discuss your specific goals and treatment plan.
Doctors speak about the effectiveness of light therapy
Dr. Saputo has used Infrared Light Therapy clinically for pain relief for a number of years. He gives examples of its application for many painful conditions, including Diabetic Neuropathy. He reports that its use in the treatment of cancer pain is surprising and that this technology is amazing for sports injuries!
“There’s hardly a kind of pain that doesn’t respond to light therapy” – Dr. Len Sapudo, M.D.
Leading researcher Margaret Naeser describes the benefits of light therapy observed in clinical research studies that she has conducted at Boston University.
Margaret A. Naeser, Ph.D., L.Ac., has done several studies on the brain with LED light therapy including some with Michael R. Hamblin, Ph.D. from Harvard who is one of the most prolific researchers in this field. She describes results obtained with this therapy for a number of conditions.
